  • November 2009 to November 2010 (Principal Proponent.) Philippine Foreign Policy Decision Making Towards China During the Ramos Administration

  • December 1, 2004 to present Research Associate “Attitudes of Low Income and High Income Residents of Iloilo City towards the Environment” Responsible for study conceptualization and analysis of its policy implication.

The study is supported by the UP  Visayas In House Fund.

  • October 2004 to October 2005 Study Leader/Researcher “Policy and Socio Economic Review and Identification of Constrains in Milkfish Aquaculture” Responsible for the analysis of land use and water use policies for milkfish aquaculture: examination of the current land use of public lands under fishpond lease agreement (FLA) and other forms of use agreement, and analyzed the role of local governments in milkfish sector policy.

The study is supported by World Fish Center and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources of the Philippines.

  • July 1, 2004 to July 2005   Junior Research Associate “Towards Appropriate Policies for Managing Sustainable Coastal and Fisheries Resources in the Philippines: Analysis of Fisheries Resource Access Regulations” Responsible for the review and analysis of the legal and institutional frameworks pertaining to and affecting resource access regulation in the Visayan Sea, particularly on issues related to resource use and jurisdiction conflict among local governments.

The study is supported by the GTZ of Germany and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources of the Philippines.

  • November 24 2003 to present Study Leader “ The Role of Social Capital  in Maasin Watershed Resource Management” Responsible for the identification of the changes of the social capital in two upland communities before and after the community watershed resource management project, and the analysis of the effects of social capital to other capitals of the community.

The study is supported by the UP in the Visayas In House Fund.

  • July 2002 to March 2003 Co-researcher “Role of Government, NGO, and PO in Promoting Social Capital for Watershed Resource Management inBrgy. Abay Maasis, Iloilo” Responsible for formulating the research framework, and analysis of the role and relationships of the institutions in the promotion of social capital.

The study was an undergraduate research project untaken fully by the proponents under faculty supervision.
